Alison’s banting testimonial story
In 2013 when I retired, I took a year’s sabbatical. Apart from a well-earned rest, I decided to concentrate on getting my husband’s diabetes under control. I followed his set eating plan with him for a year, six to eight small meals per day and yet we were always hungry and I was blossoming into a size 22! My husband also suffered with cellulitis of the legs, a big warning sign that things were going south there. Luckily for me, I was given a copy of the Real Meal Revolution, and that has been a life and health changing experience!
The benefits from this lifestyle are many and I am now a size 16!
I used to sit up to sleep because of digestion problems – that is a thing of the past as well as the joy of being able to just bend down to do up my shoes.
And now regarding my husband’s’ diabetes, he has lost 32kgs and gone from XXXL to XL
We have gone from checking to see how high his sugar is to checking to see how low it is.
This is our lifestyle now and the journey and benefits continue.
As fate would have it, not long after starting Banting, I joined the Loafers Lowcarb team where I have learnt so much about the benefits of LCHF from our customers as they share their successes in weight and health management!
Mavis’s banting testimonial story
Mavis started working at Loafers in 2014, weighing in at 92kg and fully diabetic. She ate chips with tomato sauce and bread for lunch and had no idea of how her diet was affecting her weight and her health. When Loafers started to follow the Low Carb path, Mavis followed suit.
She learnt about how diabetes works and realized she was on the wrong path. She changed quickly and just as quickly, saw results.
Today she is 73Kgs and says she has so much energy! Her friends tell her that she must be sick and she says to them that they are the ones that are sick!
Mbali Sikosena’s banting testimonial story
My name is Mbali Sikosena, I am a Banter.
I started the process last year, July 2016. Weight had always been a concern for me, my late mother was obese. I had always been yo-yo dieting, haunted by the fact that genetically I might be obese (hereditary).
The banting process involved changing and shifting paradigm intervals of your body weight holistically. Banting controls your sugar levels, hormonal imbalances and affects your day to day food intake. Banting has increased my energy levels.
So far, I have lost 11 kgs. Banting is a multi-pronged approach of looking at your lifestyle. Your skin improves, energy levels increase, sugar levels stabilise and weight decreases.
Setting mini goals has helped, also, celebrating small victories has helped me stick with it no matter what. Watching your food portions and balance is the core for banting. If you are a banter out there and sensitive people around you ask about it, Banting is a lifestyle change that encourages clean living and better, healthier choices. Read, read, read. Make use of all the banting material at your disposal, it will open your eyes as to what works for you and what doesn’t. It’s a personal journey and I recommend that you journal your successes and victories. Happy Banting!
